Famous for its Mediterranean-styled architecture, Coral Gables is home to 42,871 residents (according to the 2004 Census estimate). The "City Beautiful” as it’s known, has an abundance of historical landmarks (Venetian Pool, Merrick House) and elegant residential tree lined neighborhoods with various characters that reflect different historical periods – old Spanish in the north, large estates in the south. Coral Gables also has the renowned Miracle Mile shopping district and the Village at Merrick Park and is home to the National Champions, University of Miami Hurricanes.
Another attractive feature that supports Coral Gables's in high regard is its lush landscaping and tree lined streets. In fact, more than 50,000 shade trees cover the city’s 13.3 square miles and cover the city’s bike paths and walking trails; its 22 parks and 33 public tennis courts, as well as two public golf courses (Biltmore & Granada) and Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens offers variety in outdoor spaces. Coral Gables is also home to 36 miles of pristine waterways and contains multiple marinas and boating facilities to take full advantage of its waterfront.
